About Book Cloud
What is Book Cloud?
Book Cloud is an online book rental system that allows customers to enjoy reading at the comfort and convenience of their homes by having their favourite books mailed to their doorstep. Currently there are two book plans available - 2-Book Plan & 3-Book Plan. Both offer unlimited reads on a monthly subscription basis. There are no late-charges or overdue fines, just read at your own pace and when you're done with one book, mail it back to us with our prepaid return envelope (included when we send you books). Once we have received your returned item, the next book will be on its way within 3 to 5 working days. To sign up for a book plan, click here!
What does the book plan signing up process involve?
To sign up for a book plan, register for a free account by clicking the Register link at the top right hand corner of any page. You will be prompted to choose a username and password, as well as to enter some important contact information so that our Book Cloud team can be in touch with you to serve you to the best we can. Once you have an account, click on Book Cloud > Sign up to begin. You will be guided through a simple 4-step process: 1) Choose your book plan, 2) Enter your details, 3) View your bill, and 4) Make Payment. Once your sign up is complete, you can start searching for books by entering keywords in the search box at the top right hand corner of each page and add the items you wish to read to your wishlist!

How can I pay for my book plans?
Payment can be made online via PayPal. PayPal is a renowned and safe payment gateway which allows you to pay with:

Mailing
After I have mailed my book back using the return envelope, when can I expect to receive my next book?
We will take approximately 3 to 5 days to process your book return and send out the next available one on your wishlist.
How do I return a book that I have read?
With every book delivered to your home, you will receive a prepaid return envelope. Simply seal your book in our return envelope and drop off the parcel at any post box nearby.
How are my books mailed to me?
All book items are mailed via SingPost. To find out more about SingPost and its services, visit their website at www.singpost.com.sg.


Wishlist
How many books can I add to my wishlist?
As many as you wish! There is no cap to how many books you can have on your wishlist - add and remove items anytime you wish.
What is the recommended number of books to have on my wishlist?
To ensure that you get your next book in the fastest possible time, it is recommended that you have at least 15 to 20 books listed on your wishlist. If the next item on your wishlist is currently unavailable, we will send you the next available item on your wishlist.
I have subscribed for a Book Cloud book plan but I am not receiving any books. Why is that so?
  • There are currently no items on your wishlist - check your wishlist regularly to ensure that there are always items on it.
  • The items you have on your wishlist are not available - it is possible that the items you have added to your wishlist are currently unavailable (perhaps due to high popularity of those titles). Thus it is recommended to have at least 15 to 20 items on your wishlist at any point in time to ensure that you always have a book on its way to you.
  • Your subscription has been cancelled - to check if you have previously cancelled your account, login to your account and click on your username at the top right hand corner to access your account profile. Alternatively, after logging in, you can access your profile directly here. At your profile page, check if you are currently on any subscriptions. If you have previously cancelled your plan, you can sign up again here.
Some book titles do not have the "Add To Wishlist" button. Why can't I add such books to my wishlist?
Not every book is supported by the Book Cloud book plan scheme. In general, most fiction titles can be added to your wishlist. Non-fiction and children's titles are currently for sale only at our store. [See store location]


Damages
What if I have damaged a book I'm holding on to?
If you have accidentally damaged a book, it will be considered that you have purchased the item. You may go about with two options: One, you can choose to purchase the book straight away by logging in to your account and clicking on the "Buy" button next to that book item on your Currently Reading list. Alternatively, if the book is mailed back to us and we have deemed it to be damaged, we will bill you an invoice to pay for your item online via PayPal.

We believe that every customer deserves an enjoyable read with books in good condition. Who wants to read a book with crumpled pages or torn ends? Not our customers! Let's be considerate readers and take care (and responsibility) of books we read so that everyone can enjoy reading, every day.
What is considered as 'damaged'?
We will deem a book as damaged if it has one or more of the following:
  • Torn page(s)
  • Wet page(s)
  • Crumpled page(s)
  • Stained page(s) e.g. due to food or drink spills, pen marks
  • Missing page(s)
  • Bent front and/or back book cover(s)
